How to Download X Videos on iPhone

Save a public X (Twitter) video to your iPhone with Safari and the Files app in a few taps. No app install or account needed.

iOS has no built-in way to save a video from the X app, but Safari can download files directly. This works for public posts only.

Steps

  1. In the X app, open the post and tap Share → Copy link.
  2. Open the downloader in Safari and tap Paste.
  3. Tap Find Video, choose a quality and tap Download.
  4. Safari saves the MP4 to Files → Downloads.

Save it to Photos

Open the Files app, go to Downloads, open the video, tap the Share button and choose Save Video. It will then appear in the Photos app.

Tips

  • If the download button seems to do nothing, check the download arrow in Safari’s address bar.
  • Choose 720p when you want a smaller file; 1080p (when available) looks best on larger screens.
